A Type of a Chicago Lighthouse History

The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually impaired is a real beacon of hope for Chicago's Blind/Low Vision Community.

Furthermore, it holds steady as the premier blind/low vision social service agency in our country. What recently shocked me while doing research for a proposed article on this agency? Get this - it's been a constant source of guidance for our community in Chicago since 1906. Yes, 1906!

My fondness of history combined with my relationship with the Chicago Lighthouse, made it uber shocking for me to discover the length of time that they've been available to serve.

Does it surprise you?

Tomorrow, back to the Spanish Golden Age light.
